A massive congratulations to IKEA and UNICEF Australia, who are celebrating over a decade in partnership. During this time of working together they have helped some 74 million children in India to create a better future for themselves and their families.
IKEA has been UNICEF’s largest corporate partner for 10 years, supported their programs through donations, marketing promotions and assistance through their IKEA Foundation. This amazing charity initiative as seen IKEA -
- Give Cambodian children access to pre-school education
- Raise 12.4million Euros for UNICEF and Save the Children in 2011 alone
Their global investments in social projects helps children like Reshmi, a 12 year old who now attends the local village school thanks to IKEA Social Initiative. Previously Reshmi worked as a cotton field worker, but now she has the chance at a new start in life thanks to this worthwhile business partnership. After the initial success of this scheme, it was later promoted in 15 states across India’s most populous state of Uttar Pradesh with further success achieved.
